Un programa internacional a un clic de su email!

Fast-Connect-Across-Borders es un programa que conecta a miembros de diferentes partes del mundo y organizaciones. Tiene como objetivo el de crear y mejorar el intercambio y colaboración entre estudiantes y profesionales de psicología. Las reacciones a un programa parecido, llamado “Fast-Connect,” que ya está funcionando hace más un año en la división internacional 52 de la American Psychological Association (APA), han sido sido muy positivos. “Fast-Connect” ha tenido un gran éxito y creemos que va a ser muy beneficioso para la SIP. Datos de la evaluación preliminar de este programa han demostrado entusiasmo de los miembros, satisfacción, y aprecio al programa. A través del Fast-Connect-Across-Borders ofrecemos a los miembros de la SIP una oportunidad para colaborar con miembros de la APA Div52 International Psychology. Miren el sitio Web de la división 52: www.div52.org para tener una idea de la misión y intereses de la División.
¿Cómo funciona?
- Con la ayuda de un gerente de relaciones, un estudiante (Student), un profesional en principio o mitad de carrera (Early Career Psychologist o ECP), y otro con más de 10 años de carrera (Senior) se conectan via teléfono, email, o Skype.
- El miembro “Senior” entrevista al estudiante, quien en torno entrevista al miembro “ECP” quien a su vez entrevista al miembro “Senior.”
- Cada entrevistador escribe un perfil corto de 160 a 180 palabras.
- El autor del perfil envía al entrevistado el proyecto para ser editado.
- El entrevistado hace una revisión rápida, reenvía el perfil editado, con una fotografía, al gerente de relaciones del trío.
- El gerente de relaciones recoge y da formato a los tres perfiles y los envía a la lista de distribución principal APA Div52 así como a la lista de la SIP. Una copia del trío es archivada en la pagina web de la APA Div52 y también en la de la SIP.
- Miembros de APA Div52 y miembros de la SIP reciben luego un email con el perfil del trio. Nota: En un trio siempre habrá 1 o 2 miembros de la SIP y 2 o 1 miembros de la APA Div52.

In Latin America professional training in psychology is typically based on the licentiate, a five-year program focused on academic and practical training in psychology. The degree is more comparable to a master’s degree than to a bachelor’s, and qualifies psychologists to engage in psychotherapy. For more information: Hernández-Guzmán, L., & Sánchez-Sosa, J. J. Please be aware that the category of “Early Career Psychologist” (ECP) means a psychologist, and/or academician, and/or researcher, and/or practitioner who is in his/her first 10 years of career, and the category “Senior” means that this individual has more that 10 years of career. These categories are for the purpose of Fast-Connect-Across-Borders.
ANA MARIA JACO VILELA PhD
Dr. Jacó obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology in 1972, completed her masters at the Fundação Getúlio Vargas, and her doctorate at São Paulo University, Brazil. She furthered her education with a post-doctorate from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain. Her principal focus of study, research, teaching, and publishing has been, for approximately 40 years on the history of psychology, specifically of Brazil. She ardently collaborates with many prestigious research institutions and has been published in numerous scientific journals and books. She currently coordinates the Iberoamerican Network of Researchers on the History of Psychology, which includes a dynamic group of 100 international researchers. Ana is also the Executive Secretary for South America for SIP (Interamerican Society of Psychology) and the President of Div18 (History of Psychology) for the International Applied Association of Psychology (IAPP). It was a privilege to interview such a passionate, knowledgeable, and friendly keeper of the legacy of psychology in Latino America. Despite all of her work, Ana find some free time to enjoy his children and, as a good Carioca that she is, long walks on the beautiful beaches of Rio de Janeiro.

SUZANA ADAMS PsyD
Dr. Suzana Adams is Brazilian but grew up in Switzerland, France, Spain, US, and England. She returned to Brazil to work at an UN agency, and is now living in the US. Dr. Adams’ background studies are multifaceted. She has been interested in International Psychology since she was studying philosophy at the Sorbonne while volunteering at a political refugee center in Paris. She became more involved with APA in 2012 when she participated with Div48 Peace Psychology on an evidence-based report that addressed the psychological factors related to the experience of immigration. Suzana obtained her Clinical Psychology degree from Argosy in 2011 and is in private practice in Phoenix, Arizona, where she sees general population and international clientele. She is a provider for Office of Refugee and Resettlement (ORR), Refugee Medical Assistance Program (RMAP), and Physicians for Human Rights (PHR). She was elected in 2012, Div52 Member-at-Large and ECP Chair. In this capacity, she spearheaded the Webinar, Fast-Connect, and Fast-ConnectAcross-Borders projects (www.div52ecp.wordpress.com). She was recently appointed to CODAPAR. This committee provides leadership to facilitate coordination and communication among divisions and between divisions and APA.

ISABEL APONTE GUZMAN
In 2014, Isabel Aponte started her masters program in psychology, with an emphasis on cognitive psychology, at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. Her interest in psychology emerged after she worked in school settings, assisting both parents and children. Isabel’s main interests, at the moment, are neuropsychology, physiological psychology, school psychology, and the application of different psychotherapeutic intervention models. Isabel also has a special interest in social psychology and particularly in research involving social experiments such as the Asch and Milgram experiments. In her practicum, schools refer most of her clients, but she also has access to a more diverse clientele, which she enjoys very much because it gives her a broader experience. Isabel’s professional goal is to specialize and acquire a doctorate in neuropsychology. More specifically, she would like to have the opportunity to develop, collaborate, and participate in the research of mirror neurons. Isabel would like to know more about neuropsychological testing and how she could pursue her goal in the US. She would welcome contact from other international professionals with similar interests from both Division 52- International Psychology and from the Interamerican Society of Psychology (SIP).
